Strengthening a Growing Brand with Member-Focused Messaging

Olean Area Federal Credit Union

Transact worked with Olean Area Federal Credit Union to build their brand in their existing western NY market and in new geographic areas as the credit union expands. A significant challenge was that while their membership pool was expanding into new counties, and part of a neighboring state, the credit union does not have branches in these additional areas.

The Brand Strategy

Increasing awareness was the primary goal, so we started by helping them identify a simple and memorable tagline that answered the question: why join? Through testimonials across both personal and business credit union members, one thing became crystal clear. Olean Area FCU members feel like their credit union has their back and is there to support them through life and business. Olean Area FCU is always in their corner.

Transact worked with Olean Area FCU to deploy this messaging as part of a comprehensive branding strategy that included digital, print, radio and video marketing.

 

Website Design

We made visual enhancements to their website as a stepping stone to a future redesign. We worked closely with Olean Area FCU to improve navigation, optimize user experience, and ensure that member online banking and resources could stand-in for physical locations in expanded areas.

  Video, Social & Radio

Through member and employee interviews, we helped highlight real stories of how Olean Area FCU members’ lives have been improved thanks to their credit union membership. We shared stories of saving money, improving financial wellness, pursuing business dreams and being involved in the community, showing how Olean Area FCU is in their members’ corners.

The same messaging was broadcast via social media and radio advertising, further elevating awareness of Olean Area FCU.

Digital Marketing

We developed an online marketing plan with the goal of raising awareness of both Olean Area FCU’s brand and of credit unions in general. This plan combined the new tagline with messaging from member testimonials to show the many benefits of a credit union relationship.
